This is the company's fundamental reasons for existence beyond just making money. For us, we are constantly looking for ways and to means achieve this purpose with all those who have dealings with the company.

FOUR MEANINGFUL WORDS

QUALITY, INNOVATION, CARING and INTEGRITY. These are the four meaningful words that guide our every action. Quality and Innovation drive the products that the company builds and delivers to the customers. Caring and Integrity, on the other hand, focus on the people that BKP deals with the customers, business associates, employees, shareholders and the community.

These four core values have always been the centre of everything at BKP. They encompass what the team members at BKP stand for and are deeply embraced by all our employees.

QUALITY
The quality of a product has to speak for itself. To ensure that BKP's promise of high quality homes continues, the management has adopted the internationally renowned CONQUAS(Construction Quality Assessment System) for all of our projects.

In the Group's constant drive to improve quality in all areas, including management systems, Bukit Kiara Properties (BKP) and Bukit Kiara Interiors (BKI) were both certified ISO 9001:2000 by Moody's International in 2007. BKP's construction arm, Bukit Kiara Builders (BKB), was certified the year before. Two years later, in 2009, all three companies successfully transitioned from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008 standards.

And finally, in 2010, Bukit Kiara Property Services (BKPS) became the fourth company within the Group to be certified. This is probably the first time a property development company in Malaysia received accreditation with four ISO certifications.
 
INNOVATION
In line with BKP's tagline 'For Innovative Lifestyles', innovation leads the way for every project. New living concepts are promoted to achieve the uniqueness of homes that BKP builds. Innovation is also extended to how the company creates new ideas in marketing, design, customer service, construction processes and business solutions.

 
CARING
Caring is a core value that revolves around building strong relationships. A good, caring relationship goes a long way as it constantly builds rapport, trust and credibility. This philosophy rings true for BKP as we strive to nurture our customers' interest as well as the needs of our employees, business associates and the community at large.

In addition, BKP believes that helping the needy and giving back to the society is extremely essential. Thus, in 2009, BKP launched the Caring Hands Initiative as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to reach out to charity homes.

 
INTEGRITY
All three core values above are upheld by a strong foundation of Integrity. Integrity is an essential component of life at BKP. We stress the importance of conducting ourselves and doing business with integrity as the most important element. We strive on to always 'Do the right thing even when no one is watching'. That is why Integrity is the bedrock of the company's core values. It guides us to make the right decisions and it becomes the basis for all interaction with our customers, employees, business associates and the community.

As a testament to the staff's commitment to this, BKP won the inaugural Malaysian Business Ethics Excellence Award in 2006 and subsequently in 2008 and 2010. Held once every two years, the award recognises companies practising exemplary business ethics guided by their respective Code of Ethics.

THE SYMBOL OF OUR BELIEF
The logo represents what BKP is all about. It stands to embody the qualities of, and the ways that the company works. Above all, it illustrates what customers can expect when they decide to invest in a new home.

The four bars serve as the four core values of the company.

The three upright bars stand for Quality, Innovation and Caring which are firmly grounded on a solid foundation of Integrity which is signified by the horizontal bar.

With this logo, the people at BKP will always be reminded to continue
the practice of the company's core values.
THE GUIDING LIGHT

BKP's Code of Ethics is a booklet that guides our everyday business transactions.

Derived from the company's four core values, the Code of Ethics acts as the guiding light and secures the business to the foundations of honesty, integrity and respect, with the ultimate objective to improve our service to the homeowners and forge meaningful partnerships with the business associates.

Written in 3 languages, the 10-page booklet is made available to all its employees, business associates and customers. The Code of Ethics is highly valued and is practised by everyone at BKP on a daily basis.

As a testament to the staff's commitment to this, BKP was presented with the Malaysian Business Ethics Excellence Award for years 2006, 2008 and 2010, the first and only property development company to win the award three times in a row.The award recognises companies practicing exemplary business ethics guided by their respective Code of Ethics.

Communication

In promoting transparency and openness among employees, we ensure that our employees are consistently being informed and updated. This is done through the daily morning huddle, staff newsletter, monthly staff gathering/dinner and other similar events.

The Company also recognises that empowerment of our employees is one of our most powerful tools in managing the Company. Thus, employees are encouraged to speak up during meetings, to take charge of events and to offer suggestions through their monthly reports/suggestions.


Alignment

Alignment is a process of communicating to everyone and having everyone play their part for the good of the whole company. At BKP we stress the importance of staff alignment by involving employees in quarterly planning sessions and introducing quarterly themes within the Company.

We believe that 'Success is 1% vision and 99% alignment'.

It is important for employees to be aware and involved in some form of decision making for the Company so that they can work in sync to achieve the Company's objectives and goals together.


Engagement & Teamwork

We believe that staff engagement and teamwork are important to create greater motivation and satisfaction among employees. It creates enthusiasm for their roles and their work and ensuring that they are aligned with the values of the Company, well informed and well integrated with their colleagues.

Engaged employees are the most productive and loyal employees. They are intellectually and emotionally connected with the Company. They give 110% and feel passionate about the Company's goals and are committed to live by its values.

At BKP, we have initiated many unique activities and programs to engage the staff. These include Family Day, Company Trip, Sports Club and Quarterly Department Get-Togethers.

Development & Training

BKP believes in a 'Lifelong Learning' philosophy where success comes with disciplined application of acquiring knowledge, and putting it to correct use. It has always been our aspiration that every team member succeeds in their life. This benefits the individual and company and also the employees' family.

In order to support such a philosophy, the Company sets aside a reasonable sum of training budgets to enable employees to grow their personal capabilities and reach their full potential. In addition, a set of unique practices is also implemented for staff development and training. These include luncheon talks, Continuing Education Programmes, 'on the job' trainings, opportunities to get involved in different committees, and having our own resource library.
