A pleasant surprise... Mr. A. Bacs from international
auctioning house Christie's reviews the secret in increasing
the value of antique items.

Reason being that the value of your watch may appreciate by 100 times if it was auctioned together with the box a few decades later. This startling surprise was revealed by international auctioning house representative Mr A. Bacs to 46 guests at an exclusive dinner hosted by BKP.

Christie’s Bacs, who is head of Geneva Watch Department and one of the four speakers from Christie’s, related a story of how one of his clients sold his watch for tidy sum of RM144,000 (US$40,000) just because it came intact with its original box.

Besides the talk by Bacs, the guests were also given insights into the auctioning value of post-war/contemporary art, furniture and impressionist art by R. Manley, A. Meyer and A. Rumbler respectively.

BKP Gallery’s ultra modern Hyperkitchen was utilised for the first time by chefs from The Westin, who found the facilities there to be convenient and ideal for preparation of food for dinner crowds.
