Soon after, articles written by BKP that appeared in Haven of The Edge publication were compiled into another booklet known as My Garden Notes.

Working in collaboration with The Edge, this booklet was eventually distributed to thousands of people, including BKP’s customers and friends. On a separate occasion, during the SARs outbreak in 2003 which caused much concern worldwide, BKP sent thousands of copies of a health booklet on how to take care of their health and diet to its customers and friends as well.

BKP’s care and concern for safety is best reflected in its recent commitment to organize a series of seminars on teaching women how to take precautions against a backdrop of crimes targeted at them.

Entitled “Urban Survival Training for Ladies”, a series of three seminars were held over three weekends at the Pavilions of Bukit Kiara. Conducted by a safety activist and Director of Training of MVFRA Fire and Rescue Academy, Captain K. Bala, the seminars were offered free to customers, business associates and staff of BKP.

Close to 200 people have benefited from the seminars and these are some of their comments:

“Captain Bala was a most interesting speaker. The talk was very educational and there was never a dull moment. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn about risks and survival which was most enlightening,” said another participant.

BKP’s Group Managing Director NK Tong said: “Embedded in our company, is one of our core values, caring. We will continue to pursue interesting programmes which we think will be beneficial to our customers.”

“As we have often espoused, it’s more than just selling houses. If we are in the business of building lifestyles and creating happy homes, then we should look beyond bricks and mortar.”

“We will explore anything that can be translated into creating a happy environment for our customers.”
