Kids from Praise Emmanuel Children’s Home (PECH) took the first step in building their dream journeys when a group of employees from Bukit Kiara Properties (BKP) guided them in creating their own dream books during a recent visit.

The visit was organised by BKP’s Marketing and Property Services departments as part of their annual affairs and initiatives to reach out to needy homes and to give back to the community.

BKP’s team members explained the importance of setting goals, and guided the children in creating their dream books, which featured their aspirations and ideal lives. The session was aimed to encourage the children to plan and work towards their future.

“We are always keen to organise activities that are both educational and fun for the children. After all, BKP’s core purpose is to enrich the lives of others through meaningful engagement. This year, the team thought of an idea to help the children to discover their goals by creating their dream books. The dream book will serve as an aspiration and reminder for the children to take effort in building their future,” said BKP’s Group Managing Director, Datuk NK Tong.

“Discovering and pursuing dreams are like going on a journey. It was amazing to see how the children gave thoughts to their future when they were asked to visualise their dreams. There were many varieties in their dream books, covering their dream professions and lifestyles. However, one of the similarities among them was to own a house where they can stay with their family,” shared Alex Chua, BKP’s Marketing and Property Services Senior General Manager who was there during the visit.

“I learnt about how to build my dream book, and I believe my dream will come true. I hope to own a bungalow and stay together with my family when I grow up,” said Swee Mei, 15, a resident of PECH.

“It was inspiring to see the smiles on the children’s faces while they were creating their dream books. Those smiles will stay engraved in our memories,” added Alex.

Apart from the dream book, BKP’s Marketing and Property Services team members also collected funds to purchase a water filter to be installed in the Home to provide clean drinking water for the kids. The remaining fund was used to purchase household items required by the Home.

“Time really flies. I still remember BKP was here two years ago to bring the kids on an educational tour to KL Tower. Thank you again for the wonderful time spent with the children today. I am sure they are having a great learning session. We hope more companies like BKP will spend more time with them,” said Christopher, the caretaker of PECH.

The Home was set up in 2003 and has been depending on public funding. The Home requires RM22,000 monthly to keep up with their monthly bills. To offer assistance and contribution to PECH, please contact Mr.  Christopher K. Michael at 012-630 3672 or email pech@praise-emmanuel.com.
