The elderly tossing yee sang happily and wishing one another a great year ahead. The God of Prosperity giving blessing to the elderly.

Residents of Rumah Victory Elderly Home were all cheered up when Bukit Kiara Properties Sdn Bhd (BKP), a niche property developer in Kuala Lumpur, arranged a Lion Dance and God of Prosperity performance at the homeas part of the company’s ‘Caring Hands’ initiatives.

“Wewere very excited after being informed that the BKP team will be paying us a visit bringing with them the Lion Dance and God of Prosperity performance, as well as a feast of Chinese New Year food.  Some of us even waited outside for hours before their arrival instead of the usual routine of watching TV in the house,” shared Madam Chan, a resident of the home.

Residents of Rumah Victory and BKP team members began the festive session with tossing of yee sang and wishing one another a great year ahead filled with abundant health, prosperity and happiness.

The Lion Dance and God of Prosperity performance that followed saw well wishes and blessings being given to the residents. Each and every resident was given the opportunity to touch the lions as it is believed to bring good luck. BKP’s Group Managing Director, Datuk NK Tong and BKP’s Chief Operating Officer, LK Fan later distributed ang pows and goodie bags to all residents.

BKP also donated 12 hampers to Rumah Victory. In accordance with BKP’s core values of Caring and Integrity, it has been a tradition for BKP team members to declare all hampers and gifts received from the company’s business associates to the management. The declared items will then be donated to charity homes.

The visit ended in high note when the residents requested BKP team members to perform some songs. Despite having songs sung with incomplete lyrics, loud laughter of joy could be heard from the residents who later chipped in with the correct lyrics.

“We are glad to see the smile on the faces of the elderly and to be able to spread some warmth, care and joy during this festive season. It’s great to see the team bringing sparkles of joy to the elderly. This aligns with our core purpose of Enriching Lives through Meaningful Engagement,” said Datuk NK.

“We are grateful to have BKP share the happiness of Chinese New Year with the old folks here as the majority of them do not get the chance to celebrate the occasion with their own family members,” said Mr.Loo Choon Teong, the guardian of Rumah Victory.
