BKP Spreads Laughter to Rumah Caring

There is a saying that ‘laughteris the best medicine’. Hence spreading love and joy have become one of the objectives of Bukit Kiara Properties Sdn Bhd (BKP) team members when they paid a visit to Rumah Caring Kajang recently.

Inspired by the caring spirit advocated by the company, BKP’s marketing and property services team members on their own accord initiated a charity visit to spend a memorable morning with 32 residents at Rumah Caring.

“Caring is one of the four core values embraced by BKP, and we have established a Caring Hands programmeto reach out to charitable organisations. I am glad that the team members have embraced the company’s core value and have taken the initiative to send warmth to the needy,” said BKP’s Group Managing Director, NK Tong.

The two departments raised close to RM2,000 from their team members and the fund was later used to purchase food, personal care items and cleaning equipment to be donated to Rumah Caring.

Adding on to the excitement of the visit were the series of game sessions which saw all BKP team members in action. The team had a warm-up dance to break the ice with the senior residents where the residents were asked to follow simple dancing steps taught by the team members.

Each team member also demonstrated their talents by imitating legendary heroes, superstars, landmark buildings and animals, and invited the residents to take part in the ‘Guess Me’ game. Joy and happiness were clearly seen on their faces as they were entertained by the hilarious actions of BKP team members. Some senior citizens also walked away with attractive prizes during the game sessions.

“I appreciate the time the team members spent with us. I was happy when we were singing and dancing together, it made me feel that I am not alone,” said one of the senior citizens, Ai Lan who is 81 years old this year.

In addition to the interactive games, the team also organised a colouring contest for four adults with Down Syndrome in Rumah Caring. After concluding the joyful session, the team shared their home-cooked meals and celebrated the birthdays of two senior citizens who were born in March during lunch.

“We do get visitors who come to help us to clean our home. This time round, the residents feel really excited because BKP’s team members spent a lot of quality time with them. I can clearly see their happiness from their expressions,” said Rumah Caring’s guardian, Wendy Yap.

“This is a fruitful day for us as every team member has put in their effort to bring cheers to the residents of Rumah Caring. We will continue to initiate more charity events and lend a helping hand to the less fortunate,” said Alex Chua, BKP’s General Manager for Marketing and Property Services.
